ON my local oldies station (Berliner Rundfunk 91,4), they play a decent amount of good stuff. They also play lots of Tina Turner songs. And they also play this song with alarming frequency. It's a song that will immediately make me turn the radio to another station. But imagine my horror as I lay in the bath, perfectly relaxed, reading a good book, then - "No milk today, my love has gone away..."
I can't really explain it, I just don't like this song. It makes my skin crawl.
For a start, it's way too long. It never stops. And the simplicity of the whole song, being based, as it is, on only a few bars of melody, makes the length of the song seem like water torture.
Listen to this midi file and try to stay sane. GO on, try it.
All is not bad, though, because Graham Gouldman, the guy who wrote No Milk Today, also wrote The Yardbirds' For Your Love, which is, of course, one of the greatest songs ever.

The postscript of the Ohrwurm is after writing these words, the song infected my head again.
