THIS is ace. At some point last year I was in a record shop and for no reason that I can remember I picked up the Baxter Dury album and listened to it on the headphones they have there. This is something I don't often do - all that ear wax from other people makes me feel slightly nauseous - and I don't really know why I picked up this album. At the time I didn't know he was Ian Dury's son, and even if I did, I doubt it would have made me listen to it as most children-of-famous-people's records are rubbish. The artwork isn't the sort of thing that would normally make me want to hear it either. I'd not read anything about him, he'd not been recommended by someone; I just do not know why I chose to listen to it. But I'm glad I did because, my oh my, Baxter's album is so ridiculously beautiful. Why he's not really famous yet, I'll never understand.
